The study aimed to determine the impact of strategic planning on entrepreneurial orientation in private Yemeni universities. It also sought to assess the level of strategic planning practices and its dimensions, in addition to the level of entrepreneurial orientation within private universities located in the Capital Secretariat of Sana'a.
To achieve this, the study employed a quantitative descriptive-analytical methodology using a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 317 academic and administrative leaders from five private universities within the Capital Secretariat of Sana'a.
The results revealed that the level of strategic planning practice was very high across all dimensions. "Goal setting and mission formulation" ranked first, followed by "internal and external environmental analysis," and then "monitoring, evaluation, and risk management." The level of entrepreneurial orientation was also found to be high across its various dimensions: innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking.
The findings further showed a statistically significant relationship between strategic planning and entrepreneurial orientation, as well as statistically significant differences in respondents’ views based on university size. The study recommended enhancing strategic planning practices and increasing attention to entrepreneurial orientation to
achieve organizational excellence in private universities.
