Measuring the understanding of the employees of Bilad Al-Rus Community College - Sanhan about food safety and quality

The research aims to measure the understanding of the employees of Bilad Al-Rus Community College - Sanhan about food safety and quality, and to identify their sources of information. The size of the population reached 56 employees, where data was collected using a questionnaire that included two sections, the first devoted to demographic information, while the second section was devoted to research areas. The first field included food safety, the second food quality, and the third information sources. The data was analyzed using frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and T-test, and the statistical processing program for the social sciences (SPSS) was used. The research concluded: The level of understanding in the areas of food safety and quality is average, which indicates insufficient information, most of which was obtained from television and the Internet. There is an effect of years of service and type of job on the importance of food safety, while there was an effect of gender on the importance of food quality. The research came up with recommendations: the necessity of introducing the foundations of nutrition course in the various educational levels, intensifying awareness and cultural programs about health and nutrition, and for food and nutrition specialists to contribute to them.
